We are so very sorry to hear of the passing of Miss Jeannie. She will always have a special place in our heart. When Aaron had just turned one he started attending Jeannie's Child Care and we were very blessed to have such wonderful care for him. It was a tremendous relief to know that when we were working that Aaron was being well taken care of. Miss Jeannie always showed in her actions and her words how very much she loved "her" kids and they loved her. When our older son Chris was in an accident and hospitalized at Shands in Gainesville the kindness and generosity shown to us by Miss Jeannie, her family and staff will never be forgotten. Knowing that they were taking care of Aaron and we didn't have to worry about who was caring for him during our long days at the hospital day after day for nearly a month was an enormous help to us. We will never forget her. She is an angel! Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during their time of sorrow.

All though Aunt Jeannie was actually my 2nd Cousin, I viewed her and called her Aunt Jeannie my entire life. My very first memory of Aunt Jeannie was of her getting off of a Train with her Guitar around her shoulder when I was around 4 or 5 years old. My Poppy and I had gone to the Train station to pick her up. She had come to live in Maryland with my Poppy (George Schmittle Sr), my Grandma Hyla and my Great-Grandmother, Sarah Schmittle, while her Mother (Janet) was ill.
It was one of the funnest times in my life. We played records together, we danced together, we sang together, we ate together and we loved each other. She took me everywhere with her and my Uncle Hugh when I was a kid. The best childhood Memories that a girl could ever have asked for.
When our Family moved to Florida when I was around 11 or 12, I did not want to leave my Poppy and Grandma Hyla in Maryland. But, Aunt Jeannie made sure that my transition to a new place without friends was good, fun and loaded with memories as my Family spent the next 5 years in Summerfield before moving back to Maryland.
I love you Aunt Jeannie and you will always be a part of my most fond Memories. I thank you for the TONS of fun in the most critical times of my life and I will NEVER forget you. Please hug my Poppy and Grandma Hyla for me and tell them that I miss them terribly and can't wait to see them again in Heaven.
