Don was always a gentleman, and someone I will always remember when looking back on the Billiards experiences in The Villages. He will be always be missed and recalled in our fond memories of same. I have played for 7 or 8 years in the Hickey League, and it is the best by far.

I Knew Don and played in his league for around 18 yrs. He was admired by many (league players and others) for running the best league in the Villages and always had a waiting list of players wanting to join. He devoted much of his time to his league, tournaments, lunches and earlier, golf matches. All without the use of a computer. He will be remembered and missed by all that new him.

Don also turned over the morning "Hickey" league to me. I consider that an honor that he would have confidence and trust me enough to care for one of his creations. He always greeted me with "What do you know Barry. It is my honor to have known him.

As I told him when he handed over the league's management to me a couple of years ago, it's always going to be called the HICKEY League! We all miss you, buddy.

Always loved playing pool with Don - he was such an excellent "safety" player and everyone knew it. He ran the advanced league that so many want to play on and can't get in and I'm sure most enjoyed the league and still do today. Don will be missed in The Villages.
