Obituary of Philip Joseph Gaudette

THE VILLAGES – Philip Joseph Gaudette, 83, passed peacefully from this life Thursday, April 26, 2018.

Born in Weymouth, MA he was the son of the late Edward and Madeline (Comeau) Gaudette.

 

Philip served his country in the U. S. Navy and following his military service was employed by the U. S. Postal Service as a rural letter carrier. He retired in 2001.

 

He and his wife Claire moved to The Villages from Southborough, MA in 2007. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed swimming, playing poker with his buddies and eating out.

 

Philip leaves his beloved wife of 58 years, Claire D. (McHatton) Gaudette, daughter, Dawn and her husband Kevin McGregor, son, James Gaudette and grandchildren; Jaime, Katy, and Annie; siblings, Yvonne, Teddy and Jeanne, plus many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Frances and Cecile and 2 brothers, Edward and Richard.

 

A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Timothy Catholic Church, The Villages on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 8:30 AM. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.

 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Humane Society of Sumter County (www.hsspca.org).
