George William Tye The Villages - George William Tye, 79, died October 20, 2008. Mr. Tye was born in Youngs Creek, KY and moved to The Villages from Nashville, TN in 1999. He was a retired United States Air Force Major; and a psychologist in private practice; attended New Covenant United Methodist Church; member of American Blind & Disabled Golf Assoc; Retired Military Group; Paul Harris Fellow & Past member of Rotary International; Phi Delta Kappa Fraternity; life member Disabled American Veterans; Kentucky Konnection Club; life member Blinded Veterans Assoc; Retired Officers Assoc; National Sojourners. His hobbies were golfing, woodworking, fishing, traveling and participating in International Blind Golf Tournaments. Survivors include his wife, Irene, The Villages, son, Thomas, San Diego, CA; daughters, Deborah Carpenter, Berea, KY; Leslie Hall, Ashville, OH; sisters, Micki Yeary, Tazewell, TN; Virginia Reeves, Andersonville, TN; Sylvia Sadler, Clinton, TN; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
