Obituary of James W. Sheppard

James William Sheppard, 71 of Chiefland passed away Dec 9, at Shands Hospital in Gainesville. He was a police officer for the City of Tampa for 20 years and also worked for the Division of Forestry. He moved here from Tampa in 1985. He served his country in the US Navy. He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Denise Jones of Trenton, his son James Kelly (Sabrina) Sheppard of Chiefland, his mother, Lorene Cannon of Trenton and his sister, Faye. He had 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Pelvo Sheppard and sister, Colene. Funeral services will be Thursday, Dec 11, at 2:00 PM at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, Chiefland. Visitation will be one hour prior the service at the funeral home.
