Obituary of Joe McAlister

McALISTER, JOE FRAKES Ocala - Joe Frakes McAlister, 47, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008 at his residence. He was born in Gallatin, TN and moved to Ocala 13 years ago. He was a Thoroughbred horse trainer, enjoyed golf and Tennessee Volunteer's football. He served on the Board of Directors of HBPA. He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Jolane Chapman McAlister of Ocala, his mother, Anne Frakes McAlister of Conyers, GA, his father and step-mother, Joe E. and Barbara McAlister of Palmetto, GA, his sister, Suzy Bortles of Oviedo, his brother, Jay McAlister of Orlando, and his step-children, Colin and Kristin Brennan of Ocala. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd. Ocala, with Chaplain Bob Miller and the Marine Corps League Marion Detachment officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Ocala Farm Ministries, P.O.
