Obituary of Marjorie Balogh

Marjorie H. Balogh, age 70, of Ocala, FL passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2009. She was born in Caryville, FL on December 11, 1938. Marjorie enjoyed offshore fishing, the beach, the mountains, needle crafts, gardening and growing roses. She led an active and varied business life. Marjorie was the first Executive Secretary for the Marion-Citrus Mental Health Clinic now known as The Centers. She was the first Nursing Service Secretary at Marion Community Hospital, now Ocala Regional Medical Center. She was Executive Assistant for the Chairman of the Board of Century Banks, Inc., now Suntrust. Marjorie spent almost a decade in the Marion County Supervisor of Elections Office as the Candidate Specialist and also as a Poll worker. She ended her career as a Medical Transcriptionist in private Physician offices. Marjorie was a member of PEO Chapter GZ. She was also a member of Fort King Presbyterian Church of Ocala. She moved to Ocala from Gainesville, FL in 1972. Mrs. Balogh is survived by her son Mark Haltiwanger and his wife Bonita and 3 grandchildren Erin, Mark and John. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Balogh who passed away in 1987. A visitation for Mrs. Balogh will be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, FL on Thursday, May 14, 2009 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, May 15 at 1:00pm.
