Obituary of J. C. Joey Buffington

BUFFINGTON, JR., JOHN "JOEY" Ocala - John "Joey" Buffington, Jr., 50, passed away on June 1, 2009. He was born in Jacksonville and had been a resident of Ocala since 1959. He was a member of Highlands Baptist Church and enjoyed the Gators, golf and NASCAR. He is survived by his wife, Shawn Marie Buffington, his step- sons, Aaron Michael Chase and A.J. Jones, both of Wilmington, NC, his grandchildren, Adrian, Shelby and Averie Chase, his father, John Buffington, Sr. of Ocala, his mother, Linda Dodd of Easley, SC, his step-mother, Jean Buffington of Ocala, his step-father, Robert Dodd of Easley, SC, his grandmother, Louise McGraw of Greenville, SC, his sister, Jana Best of Orlando and his aunts, Judy Gunter and Claudette Sikes. Funeral services will be on Sunday, June 7, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala with Rev. Jeff Rountree officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-2 PM. Burial will be at Barnes Cemetery.
