Obituary of Sybella Halliday

Sybella Le Brun Halliday, passed away at age 91 at TimberRidge Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Ocala on August 20, 2009. Sybella graduated from Monmouth Junior College, and went on to graduate from Barnard College and commenced to even further her education attending and graduating from Columbia University. She then went on to teach at St. Mary's College for 3 years. From there she went on to head the research department at Lederle Laboratory with over 200 employees. Lederle became American Cyanamid and then became Wyeth Lab. She worked there for 47 years. When she was asked about her longevity at Wyeth, "I loved the research so much that I never felt as though it was work". She moved to Ocala in 2004 from Nyack, N.Y. She is survived by a niece Ruth Halliday- Sherman of Ocala, grand nephew Thomas Monsees of Ocala, grand nephew Scott Monsees of Ocala. Services for Miss Halliday will be private.
