Obituary of Larry Marsh

Larry Russell Marsh, 60, passed away at his home on November 23, 2009 after fighting a long battle with brain cancer. Larry was born in St. Petersburg, Fl. to Grace and Perry R. Marsh, Jr. In 1972 Mr. Marsh graduated from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. He was inducted into Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity Chapter #695 on April 20th 1969. After graduation, he was employed as a real estate appraiser associated with the bank founded by his family known as Home Federal Savings & Loan in Pinellas County. In 1974, Mr. Marsh became a member of the National Association of Realtors, and the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers. He received his MAI designation in 1979, and was an active real estate developer in the Pasco County area. Mr. Marsh served on many boards including Big Brothers-Big Sisters. He moved to Ocala Fl. in 1987 from St. Petersburg, Fl. and worked as a commercial real estate broker and appraiser with Arline & Co., Inc., Prudential Realty and Roberts Real Estate, Inc. He was a devoted family man who enjoyed his home and had a strong work ethic. He attended Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Mr. Marsh enjoyed listening to all kinds of music and playing chess. He continued, throughout his life to play golf. Larry also enjoyed the mountains of North Carolina, traveling and cruising the Queen Mary; he also considered himself a connoisseur of wines. Mr. Marsh is survived by his loving wife, Dierdre Marsh; two sons, Jason Marsh and wife Jennifer and granddaughter Brooke Marsh of Ocala and Brian Marsh and wife Mary of Ocala; one step-son, Victor Thompson of Providence, RI; one sister, Jody Uchrin of Dunedin, Fl.; one brother, Russell Marsh and wife Dottie of Homosassa, Fl., and beloved cat Josephine. Memorial Service will be Friday, December 11, 2009 at 3:00 PM at Hiers-Baxley TimberRidge Chapel, 9695 SW 110th St., Ocala with Dr. Raymond Waite officiating.
