Obituary of Francis Charles Mathews

THE VILLAGES — Frank C. Mathews, 83, died Monday, June 28, 2010. Mr. Mathews was born in Camden, N.J., and moved to The Villages from Medford Lakes, N.J., in 1996. He was retired from State of New Jersey Department of Transportation; member of St. George Episcopal Church, The Villages; charter member and secretary of the Burlington County Football Club for 25 years; member of the New Jersey Track & Field Officials Association; and a U.S. Navy veteran. His hobbies were golf and he collected golf score cards. Survivors include his wife, E. Loretta; daughters Denise Mathews, Rosanne D. Mathews, both of Florida; and sister, Carol Ann Belser, Elizabethtown, Pa. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Monday, July 5, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, The Villages. Memorial service will be at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, at the funeral home with the Rev. Janet Galbreath officiating. Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, The Villages, is in charge of arrangements.
