Obituary of Vernon Hayden Schneider

Schneider, Vernon Hayden Vernon Hayden Schneider, 80, of Ocala, died on 2 July 2010 after a short illness. He was predeceased by his parents, Herman C. Schneider and Erma Helfer Schneider, his brother Herman Delbert Schneider and his half-brother, Kenneth Schneider. A native of Libertyville, IL, he lived for 33 years in North Carolina before moving to Ocala. He leaves behind his wife of 59 years, Lois Potterton Schneider, three nephews, a niece, their children, cousins and many friends. He retired from Outboard Marine Corp. after 34 years, employed as an Area Service Representative for the Southeastern area of the country. He enjoyed water sports, fishing and boat racing. He was a very proud winner of a 5-hour marathon boat race on Fox Lake, IL in 1962. A member of the American Legion for 54 years, serving in the Korean War on Okinawa after being activated with the Illinois National Guard in 1952. Interment will follow at a later date at Florida National Cemetery at Bushnell, FL.
