Obituary of Gladys Irene Corbin

Corbin, Gladys, 87, The Villages, FL, formerly, Rochester, MI, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at The Villages Hospice House. She was born in Salem, MI and graduated from the University of Michigan. She proudly served in the US Marines in WWII. Mrs. Corbin was a teacher and then a Realtor in Michigan. She was appointed by the Michigan Governor to serve on the State Board of Realtors. She also was a 50 year plus member of AAUW, League of Women Voters, Township Trustee for Avon Township Oakland County, member of BPW, Director of Economic Development Corporation, Citizens Advisory Council to the Commission on Education Reform, and Friends of the Library in both, Rochester, MI and The Villages, FL. She enjoyed reading, golf and mah-jongg. Mrs. Corbin was predeceased by her husband, Russel G. Corbin. She is survived by her daughter Christine Adlfinger of The Villages, FL; sons Michael Corbin of Rochester, MI, Keith Corbin of Oxford, MI, Kevin Corbin of Leonard, MI, Stephen Corbin of Weirsdale, FL; brother Walter Hammond of Salem Township, MI; sister, Hazel Hammond Kelliher of The Villages, FL; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Visitation is 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday, August 2, 2010 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, The Villages, FL. Funeral Services will be 9:00 AM, Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at the funeral home.
