Obituary of Arthur H. Shaner

Arthur H. Shaner, Jr. Arthur H. Shaner, Jr., 74, of The Villages, Florida, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2010 in The Villages, Fl. Arthur was a Navy veteran. He was born in Palmyra, NJ and retired from a family owned business of 73 years as owner and operator of Shaner and Sons in Palmyra, NJ. He built over 100 schools in New Jersey. Arthur graduated from Temple University, and was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and of the Phillies baseball team. He also loved to play golf and tennis. He came to The Villages, Florida 7 years ago from Fort Meyers, by way of New Jersey. Survivors include his wife, Maria K. Shaner of The Villages, Florida; his daughter Carol A. Shaner of Mount Laurel, NJ; and his sister Lois Kocher of Arcadia, Florida; and two grandchildren Melanie and Eric Palm. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Diane Adams. Graveside services will be Monday, September 6, 2010 at 9:30 am at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida with Military Honors by the Spring Hill Marine Corps. League #708.
