Obituary of Marian Rae Bockting

Marian Rae Bockting Summerfield, Florida - Marian Rae Bockting, 88, of Stonecrest died September 10, 2010 at her residence. She was born in Tina, Missouri on October 7, 1921, daughter of Charles and Bernice Gonder. She attended school in Hale, Missouri and married Eugene Bockting on June 3, 1939. They lived in Gary, Indiana and Hale, Missouri for several years, before residing in Texas for many years. She most recently moved to Summerfield, Florida. She was an orthopedic nurse for 29 years at St. Joseph Hospital, Houston, TX. She enjoyed painting, crossword puzzles, and loved flowers. She is survived by five daughters: Pat Mathews of Templeton, Massachusetts; Sharon Galluzzo and Janet Bockting of Summerfield, Florida; Sandra Barnett and her husband, James, of Cameron, Texas; Donna Powell and her husband, Garry, of Pearland, Texas; one son, Paul Bockting and his wife, Tona, of Lost River, West Virginia; one sister, Donna Johnston of Kansas City, Missouri; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren; 2 "adopted" daughters, Jay Robinson, Suzanne Fecteau, and her adopted family Sharon Sunbury, Marie Hammond, Mary Jo Mattia, and Carol Shelby, of Summerfield, Florida. Visitation will be Sunday, September 12, 2010 from 7pm to 9pm. Funeral services will be at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home on Monday, 10 am, September 13, 2010, followed by internment at Forest Hill Cemetery in Weirsdale, FL.
