Obituary of Wilma J. Snook

Wilma Snook Obituary Wilma J. Snook, 68, passed away Oct 12, 2010 at Munroe Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Wilma was born November 14, 1941 in Bradenton, Florida. She was a lifelong resident of Marion County. Wilma was a retired medical secretary, citrus grower, and bank manager. Her interests included gardening, hunting, playing bridge, and traveling. She was a devoted Mother, Wife, and friend to many. She gave much of her time and energy as a caregiver to her late husband and present friends. She was a member of the Weirsdale Presbyterian Church, Lake Weir Garden club, Lake Weir Yacht club, and was a strong supporter of the Florida Sheriff Youth Ranches. Wilma was preceded in death by her husband of 24 years Merle Mattair, and Brother John D. Bowden. She is survived by son David Snook, daughter Denise McRae, son Douglas McRae, Brother James Bowden, Sister Judith Wolfe, and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 16, at 6 pm at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services 910 East Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, FL. Viewing will be held at 5pm. Wilma requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the Florida Sheriff's Youth Ranch.
