Obituary of Thomas Herbert Koenig

KOENIG, THOMAS H. Ocala - Thomas H. Koenig, 79, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011. He was born in Johnstown, PA and moved to Ocala in 1989 from Raleigh, NC. He was a retired Mechanical Engineer and served his country in the U.S. Army. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with an Industrial Engineering degree and received his Master's degree from the University of Michigan. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church where was an usher and served on the Board of the Preschool. After retiring he taught math at Ocala Forest High and was a tutor for the Juvenile Justice System. He was also a mentor for Take Stock in Children and was a master swimmer. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Arlene of Ocala, his three sons, David of WI, Mark of MI and Paul of OK, his brother, Edward of Lakeland and his seven grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, Jan. 10, 2011 at 10:30 AM at First United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Methodist Children's Home or FUMC Preschool.
