Obituary of Benedict Rafanello

Benedict Rafanello, 83, Ocala, FL passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 in Ocala. Born in Newark, New Jersey on December 14, 1927, son to the late Angelo and Mary (Ricca) Rafanello, along with his wife Marie he moved to Ocala from Lakehurst, NJ in 1989. Benedict was a WWII U.S. Army veteran. After graduating from Rutgers University with honors in Business Administration he went to work as a bank regulator for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and advanced to be Assistant Vice President of domestic and foreign banking applications, retiring in 1987 with 35 years of service. Benedict was a former President of The New Jersey Chapter of The Exchange Club, a former Governor of the New York Chapter of the Robert Morris Assoc. and member of Beta Gamma Sigma. For his many accomplishments he was included in the book "Who's Who in the East, 1985-1986." He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Marie A. Rafanello, Ocala; sons Benedict M. Rafanello (Jacqueline), Round Rock, TX and Mark V. Rafanello (Bonnie), Nutley, NJ; grandchildren Gage, Justyn, Joseph and Amanda; and sister Lena Zappo, Marietta, GA. Services and Burial will be held on Monday, January 24, 2011 at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ. Where as flowers cannot be accepted at the cemetery Memorial Contributions may be made to Legacy Hospice House, 9505 SW 110th St., Ocala, FL 34481. Arrangements are under the care of Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, Ocala.
