Obituary of Roderic Brake

Roderic Enright Brake, (Rod) was born in New Richmond, Quebec, Canada. He learned to fly in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He moved to the United States in 1965 and became an American Airlines Captain. He moved to The Villages from Woodruff, WI in 1998. He was an avid golfer; member of Our Gang Buds and Blossoms; and Hanger Flyers Golf Cart Drill Team. Rod is survived by his wife, Barbara, The Villages; son, Michael (Theresa), Schaumburg, Illinois; mother Violet, sister, Sheila (Jim); brother, Bryan(Paulette); all of New Richmond, Quebec, Canada; brother, Barry, Montreal, Quebec, Canada; sister-in-law Gillian (Ian), Bayac, France; step-daughters, Annalisa, Cardiff, Wales; Rebecca, Durham, England; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Rod was pre-deceased by his son David in 2003 and by his father Robert William Brake in 1981. A memorial service will be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, The Villages on Wednesday, March 16th at 11:30 AM with the Rev. Gillian Strachan officiating.
