Obituary of Michael Joseph Shawbitz

SHAWBITZ, MICHAEL JOSEPH, 82 Ocala - Michael Joseph Shawbitz, 82, died at Superior Residences, Ocala on Saturday, May 28, 2011. He was born in Gary, IN and moved to this area from Ironwood, MI in 1981. He was a financial planner for IDS American Express and retired after 21 years. Mr. Shawbitz was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church where he served as an usher. He was a member of Silver Springs Shores Country Club, Elks, and Moose Lodge #591. He enjoyed golf, playing the guitar, fishing and hunting, cards and dancing. He is survived by his wife, Faye Shawbitz, Ocala; sons, Michael (Patty) L. Shawbitz, MD, Mary Esther, FL, David C. Shawbitz, Appleton, WI, Mark (Kay) E. Shawbitz, Wisconsin Rapids, WI; daughter, Linda (Jon) Schmidbauer, Waukesha, WI; daughter-in-law, Anita Shawbitz Wierda, Freeland, MI and 8 grandchildren.
