Obituary of Carl J. Evans

THE VILLAGES — Carl J. Evans, 74, died Monday, June 13, 2011. Mr. Evans was born in Westville, N.J., and moved to The Villages from Pennsylvania in 2001. He was a retired draftsman, home builder and general foreman in New Jersey; a Roman Catholic by faith; member of the Irish American Club; Celtic Club; served in the New Jersey Army National Guard; and his hobby was golf. Survivors include his wife, Cecelia; son, Michael, Virginia Beach, Va.; daughter, Terri Newkirk, Woodbury, Minn.; sister, Lois Parker, Westville; and five grandchildren. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, at St. Timothy Catholic Community, Lady Lake. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Operation Shoebox, 8360 E. Hwy. 25, Belleview, FL 34420. Arrangements are by Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services-The Villages.
