Obituary of Keith Donald Smelser

Mr. Keith Donald Smelser, 50, of Ocala, died Thursday, June 30, 2011, at Shands at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Born in Baytown, Texas, he moved to Ocala in 1989, coming here from Grosse Tete, Louisiana. He was known throughout the community as a painting contractor, and was also known as an avid golfer, bowler, and fisherman. Mr. Smelser was of the Catholic Faith. He is survived by his wife Tami, his daughter Alecia Bell (Josh Vanlue), his son Steven Bell, Jr., his brother Kevin Smelser and wife Glenda, his nephew and Godson Trent Smelser, his niece April Rasti, and his granddaughter Hayden Vanlue. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at Belleview Cemetery, Belleview, Florida. Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala, is handling arrangements.
