Obituary of Alton Perry Patterson

Alton Perry Patterson, "Pat", 90 - a retired Superintendent in Heavy Construction in Marathon and Orlando, FL, passed away Saturday, July 2nd, 2011. In Ocala he worked for the Deltona Corporation. A native of Dothan, Ala., he moved to Ocala in 1976 from Orange City, FL. He served in the Merchant Marine in World War II (1942-1946). While in the Merchant Marine he was drafted in the Army for a brief time. He was released from the Army back to the Merchant Marine as a "Keyman in Industry". Mr. Patterson was a Charter Member for 53 years and is a Life Member of the Elks Lodge #2139, Marathon, FL. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Carol O. Patterson, Ocala, son Gerry Wayne Patterson and wife Patti, N. Palm Beach, FL, and sister, Samantha Jordan, Keystone Heights, FL. He was predeceased by his step-son, Johnny Patterson in 1979. A private family gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Marion County.
