Obituary of William Alford

THE VILLAGES — William Ray Alford, 69, died Wednesday, July 13, 2011. Mr. Alford was born in Cedar Key, and moved to The Villages from Wildwood in 2002. He was a State Farm insurance agent; member of St. Mark The Evangelist Catholic Church, Summerfield; and a Navy veteran. Survivors include his wife, Blanche F.; son, Todd, Columbia, S.C.; sisters, Theresa De Almagro, Pembroke Pines, Janice Mitchell, Lakeland; brothers, John Wayne and James Glenn, both of Lakeland; and seven grandchildren. A funeral Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 16, with visitation one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark Catholic Church Foundation, 7081 SE Hwy. 42, Summerfield, FL 34491. Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, The Villages, is in charge of arrangements.
