Obituary of James King

James Page King, Sr., 78, died Thursday, July 14, 2011. Mr. King was born in Arlington, KY. He retired from the New York City Fire Department, Ladder 134, Far Rockaway after twenty years of service and he was a member of the Baldwin Volunteer Fire Department. He was an employee of Jamaica Savings Bank for 30 years. Mr. King moved to The Villages in 1997 where he enjoyed an active lifestyle. He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of Reliant Masonic Lodge, Richmond, NY and Order of Eastern Star Independence Chapter #76. He was predeceased by his son James, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, The Villages; daughter, Donna Cresenti, The Villages; son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Claudia King, Faith, NC; daughter-in-law, Stephanie Parker; sister, Margaret Hoskin, Arlington, KY and five grandchildren Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Sunday, July 17, 2011 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, The Villages In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2211 North Oak Park Ave., Chicago, IL 60707
