Obituary of Elsie Margaret Kangas

Elsie Margaret Kangas, age 89 of Orange Park, Florida, died July 21, 2011. She was born to Gabriel Hannila and Christina Pekkala-Hannila, May 14, 1922 in Herman, Michigan. Elsie is survived by her three children, Gary Kangas (Susan), Middleburg, FL, Diane Anderson, Sterling Heights, MI, William Kangas (Donna), Palm Harbor, FL. Known by her 8 Grandchildren and 12 Great-Grandchildren as "Mummu" which is Finnish for "Grandmother". She was preceded in death by her husband Eino (Ed) Kangas. She was a devoted member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church of Ocala and Associate member of Advent Lutheran Church in Orange Park. Elsie loved to dance especially to big band music. She enjoyed playing bingo and playing cards. A Memorial Service to honor the life of Elsie will be held at Advent Lutheran Church, 2156 Loch Rane Blvd, Orange Park, FL 32073 at 2:00 p.m., August 13, 2011. A Scattering of Ashes will be at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Ocala, 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 1, 2011. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her memory may be offered to Community Hospice Foundation, 4266 Sunbeam Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32257.
