Obituary of Cletis Emrick

Cletis "Pete" Emrick, 58, loving husband of Mary Ann Kasper Emrick of Ocala, FL, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2011 after a brief illness, surrounded by his wife and family. Born December 9, 1952 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Robert Emrick and step mother Dorothy. He attended local schools and then served in the United States Navy, before becoming a heavy equipment operator and instructor for the Operation Engineers in Pennsylvania, which brought him to Florida to dig the foundation for the Haunted Mansion at Walt Disney World in Orlando. His more recent employment was as an electrician until his retirement in 2007. Pete was an avid Nascar fan and loved to golf. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife of 16 years. He was a very caring, loving and giving man and a loyal husband, grandfather and friend. Besides his father and step mother, he was preceded in death by his brother, George Emrick and step brother Marty Rogers. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann, sisters Effie Lynn Emrick of PA, Laurie Hund and her husband Steve, of CA, Anita Longacre of IL, brothers Charles of NC and Richard and his wife Heather of DE, and step brother Jimmy Rogers. Daughters Jennifer Kurian, and her husband Charlie, grandchildren, Reese, Samantha, and Sophia all of PA, Christine Olmsted and her husband Tim of DE, step daughters Lisa and Amy Gryskavicz, granddaughter, Carissa of PA, step sons, John Gryskavicz and his wife Minnelly, granddaughters, Reyna and Jianna, all of FL and Robert Gryskavicz and his wife Angel, grandchildren, Cheyenne and Levi of TN and Robert and Lee of PA, and several nieces and nephews. Cletis will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him. A "CELEBRATION OF HIS LIFE" will be held at the convenience of his family. Donations in his honor can be made to the American Lung Association.
