Obituary of Allan Waters

We are here to celebrate the life and love of Allan Louis Waters, born March 3, 1951 in Coldwater, Michigan, to the late Oliver Franklin Waters and Shirley Irene Bowers. He was the youngest of two to the late Franklin Waters. As a young adult, Allan and his family moved to Detroit, Michigan. While in Michigan he studied and received a Bachelor's degree in Science from Wayne State University. For the next 16 years Allan worked in Detroit with Park and Recreation. He later received a certificate in Ministry and Counseling. He relocated in 1992 to Leesburg, Florida and then to Marion and Manatee counties. He eventually worked the last 5 years at Alachua County Facility Management. Allan was affectionately known for encouraging and motivating everyone he came in contact with to follow in the path of the Lord. Allan was known among his brothers and sisters in Christ as a Philosopher and Peacemaker. He always had a kind and wise word to offer to those in his company. Allan was also a very effective communicator; people listened to him and respected his viewpoints and sound advice. His friends, coworkers and associates knew that he was genuinely concerned for their well being. His strength didn't come from being boisterous, but from his calm and caring demeanor. He was a spiritual leader and he loved the Lord with all his heart. He attended Stillwaters Church in Leesburg, FL, Restoration of Christ in Ocala, FL, New Covenant in Ocala, FL, Jesus People Life Changing Church in Gainesville, FL, Wings of Faith in Ocala, FL and often liked to have church at his home with his family. In 2001, he met his beautiful and ambitious wife Janet in Ocala, Florida. They fell in love and got married in March of 2003. They celebrated 13 wonderfully HOT years together as friends, confidant and life partners. He is survived by his loving wife, Janet Waters, his daughters, Mariama Waters, Sheray Cross and sons Hamin Waters and Sean Cross. He leaves behind grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Allan will be greatly missed and will be remembered for the kind and loving person he was.
