Obituary of Douglas Lee Turco

Douglas Lee Turco, 63, died at his home in Celebration, Florida on November 15, 2023.

Doug was born on May 18, 1960 in Honolulu, Hawaii.  He is survived by his brother, Michael L. Turco (Laura) and two grown nephews, Nicholas and Zachary, as well as his uncle, Sim Blitch.  He was preceded in death by his father, Francis S. Turco, and mother, Helen “Ann” Blitch Turco.

While growing up, Doug loved to play the piano, had a rose garden and became an Eagle Scout.  Doug grew up as an Air Force “fledgling,” traveling and living in places around the world, like Tainan, Taiwan.

Doug graduated from Buchholz High School and earned his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Florida, both in Gainesville, Florida.

In his adult life, Doug traveled the world with his parents and friends.  He sold timeshares and was able to visit timeshares in many locations as a result of his work.

Doug settled in Celebration, Florida in 1999 and loved riding his bicycle through the ‘magical’ streets of Celebration, Florida, all the while saying “hello” to everyone he encountered.  Doug was surrounded by friends and neighbors who shared his life with him.  He never met a stranger and loved to chat with people.
