Gerald “Jerry” Frank Wiechens

Age 68

Jerry was born on July 15, 1955 in San Juan, Puerto Rico and he passed away peacefully with family present on December 8, 2023 in Ocala, Florida.

Our special Jerry attended Opportunity Workshop in Ocala, Florida and the Marian Center in Opa-locka, Florida before returning home to Ocala to live with his parents, Rosella and Leo Wiechens. Jerry lived a full and exciting life; he enjoyed fishing, skiing, bowling, swimming, boating, Special Olympics, and working at Kenny’s Place of Ocala. Most of all, he loved being with family, loved ones, and his many, many friends.

He is predeceased by his father and mother, Leo and Rosella Wiechens, his brother Kenneth and his sister-in-law Peggy Wiechens.

He is survived by his brother Gene Wiechens, and sister-in-law, Leslie Wiechens, and his brother James Wiechens. He is survived by nieces and nephews, Stacy Thomas (Todd), Sandon Wiechens (Jennifer), Dustin Wiechens, Stephen Wiechens (Sarina), Michael Wiechens (Devon), Kenlea Wiechens (Ben), and Kinnan Malatesta (Michael). Additionally, Jerry had many great nieces and great nephews with whom he loved to share many adventures.

A Memorial Celebration will be held on Friday, December 15th at 11:00 a.m. at Living Waters Worship Center, 3801 N. Highway 441 in Ocala, Florida.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Kenny’s Place of Ocala or Hospice of Marion County.
