Obituary of Frank John Banning

Frank John (Jack) Banning, Jr. Jack was born on October 12, 1935, and passed away on December 2, 2023. He was born in Umatilla, FL, a son of the late Frank and Maxine Banning. His family moved to Tavares in 1940. Jack attended Tavares Elementary School and Tavares High School. He earned nine varsity letters and was President of the Student body. He graduated from the University of Florida as an engineer in 1958. He was a member of the Sig Ma Chi Fraternity. He was in the U.S. Army Reserves for 10 years. He worked for Agrico Chemical for 15 years as a mine superintendent. He moved to Belleview in 1973. He had his own engineering company for 50 years. He was happiest at his Okahumka ranch. He had cattle for 50 years. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, June, son, David Banning (Kellie) and daughter, Penny Banning and nieces: Robin Colbourne and Bonnie Nimmons. He was a past Deacon of the First Baptist Church of Belleview and a Sunday School teacher. The family will receive friends at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 5946 SE Robinson Road, Belleview, FL 34420 on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00AM. Interment will follow at the Belleview Cemetery, Belleview, FL. In lieu of flowers donations to 1st Baptist Church of Belleview, Belleview, FL would be greatly appreciated.
