Obituary of Teresa Smith

After being diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer, Teresa (Terry) Smith passed away on April 6, 2015 in Ocala, FL at the age of 70. She leaves behind her husband, Bob Smith; her daughter, Wendy Febel; and her sons Leon Hunt and Steven Hunt, step daughter Sonja Newman and step son Rick Smith along with 12 beautiful grand kids and 2 great grand children. Terry was born on October 3, 1944 in Grafton WV, to father Gerald Chewning and mother Macel Chewning, who predeceased her. She grew up loving sports and acquired an appreciation for the outdoors. Terry was devoted to her faith, husband, family and an excellent caregiver. She enjoyed life, was outgoing and also passionate about tennis especially the comradery with her tennis friends. When diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer just 2 weeks prior, she remained brave and was a tough woman throughout her final days. The funeral services will be at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home, TimberRidge Chapel, 9695 SW 110th St, Ocala FL 33481 on Friday, April 10 at 11:00AM. The Committal services will be immediately following at Florida National Cemetery at Bushnell. The family would especially like to thank Terry's tennis friends and her neighborhood community for their support, the staff at Legacy House Hospice for the care given over her final few days; and the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home for making the arrangements.
