Obituary of Lorraine A. Schneider

Lorraine A. Schneider 85 of Ocala, Florida passed away peacefully in her sleep with her family by her side.  She was born June 16, 1937 to Agnes and Dominic D’Onofrio in Harford, Connecticut.  Lorraine was very proud of her Italian heritage.  She was part of the Sons of Italy Club in Ocala, Florida.

Lorraine graduated from Weaver High School in 1955.  She went on to get her Associates Degree from Linn Benton Community College, Albany, Oregon.  She held several different positions throughout her life, working for the IRS, The State of Oregon, Department of Transportation.  She was the first woman Field Investigator for the State of Oregon.  She worked for the State of Florida for Child and Family Services.  Again, the first female court appointed representative by the State of Florida, where she retired.

Lorraine loved sailing with family on her Sail boat docked at Mystic, Connecticut Seaport.  She spent summers in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, one of her favorite places, with family and her best friend, Joan (P. Pocket) Bassett.  She won first place and many blue ribbons for place settings, and toll paintings at Oregon State Fairs.

In 1956 she married Richard Mulvey and together they had four children.  The family eventually moved to Corvallis, Oregon.  In later years she remarried, to Devere Cabe, spending many years in the State of Florida, where they retired.

Lorraine was predeceased by Devere Cabe and Harvey Schneider, her late husbands, her mother, Agnes D’Onofrio, her father, Dominic D’Onofrio, and her brothers, Francis and Richard D’Onofrio.

She is survived by her four children, her daughter Dawn Houston and husband Michael of Elmore, Vermont, her daughter Cindy Mulvey and fiancé Gary Moura of Ocala, Florida, her daughter Kelly D’Agostino-Davisson of Ocala, Florida, and her son Tim Mulvey of Corvallis, Oregon.  Grandchildren, Emily Ankerson, Joshua Hess, Gregory Mayfield, Rachel Hogan, Nickolas D’Agostino, McKenna Mulvey and Timmy Mulvey.  Great-grandchildren, Eli Hess, Hannah Ankerson, Drew Hess, Ivy Ankerson, Dominick Mayfield, Angelina Mayfield, Isabelle Hess, Gianna Mickels, Carmine D'Agostino, Athena Santiago-Doane, Paul Santiago-Doane Jr., and twins Lorenzo and Arturo D’Agostino, and Great-great-grandson Colt Hess, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday, April 5 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, TimberRidge Chapel, 9695 SW 110th St, Ocala, Florida 34481.  Church Service will be on Thursday, April 6, 9:00 AM at Ocala West Church of the Nazarene, 5884 SW 60th Ave, Ocala, Florida 34474.  Committal Service will be 1:30 PM at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, Florida 33513.
