Obituary of Phyllis Ianthy Reece

Phyllis Ianthy Reece, age 89, passed away on January 18th, 2023, in Ocala, Florida. 

Born August 9, 1933, in Barbados, West Indies, Phyllis is preceded in death by her husband, Alphonza Reece, parents Joseph Moore and Evelena Moore-Russell, brother Noel “SonSon” Moore, sister Pearl Moore-Marsh and grandson Jonathan Distant.  

She was blessed with five children — Jeffrey, Michael, Algernon, Peggy, and Sherell — whom she leaves behind to mourn her passing, along with several nieces and nephews and numerous grand and great-grandchildren. 

Phyllis’ family and friends knew her as a beautiful, kind-hearted woman with a young and jovial spirit. From her infectious laugh to her loving nature, she will be forever missed. 

The family will be receiving friends on Feb 9th at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home, 912 E Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, FL, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm all are welcome to visit and share with the family. Phyllis’s celebration of life service will be held on Friday, Feb 10th at 11:00 am at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home, open to family and friends to share her life.
