Obituary of Myrtle Yarborough Smith

Myrtle Yarborough Smith, 78, of Ocala, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2016. Myrtle was born in Callahan, FL to Alfred and Louise Yarborough and moved to Ocala in 1966. A lifelong career in the horse industry, most notably she was office manager of the late, great Hobeau Farm. She was a successful horse breeder and owner receiving recognition as breeder of "Sly Rajab", winner of the Florida Stallion Affirmed Stakes. She will be remembered by her family and friends as having a quick wit, strong opinion, and loving heart. She is survived by her daughter, Katherine Louise Beale, two granddaughters, Lauren Midden, Allison Midden, and two greatgrandsons, Miles Lucas, Collin Lucas.
