Obituary of Chad Douglas Bailey

On the evening of September 25th, 2016, at 9:20 pm, Chad Douglas Bailey passed away at UF Health Shands Hospital as the result of acute organ rejection related to a double-lung transplant. He went peacefully surrounded by family and dearest friends. He was 47 years old. Chad was born on June 8th, 1969, in Ocala, Florida, at Monroe Regional Medical Center. He was a lifelong resident of Ocala, where he worked as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer for Verteks Consulting. In addition to his work, Chad was an avid reader, internationally accomplished guitarist, science enthusiast, animal lover, and a brown belt in Goshin Ju-Jitsu. He loved many genres of entertainment, such as science fiction, fantasy, horror, and comedy. Some of his favorites books and authors included Marvel comics, Gene Wolfe, Michael Moorcock, and Arthur C. Clarke. He was a diehard fan of Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, Star Trek, Monty Python, and the original Warner Brothers cartoons. He loved frequently spending time with family and friends. Chad is survived by his parents, Cecil William Bailey and Bettie Bradley Bailey, his brother, Patrick Bailey wife, Shannon Anderson Bailey, his children, Victoria Sebren and Kindel Anderson, and grandmother Louise Bradley-Warner and all of Ocala. He is preceded in death by his brother Todd Bailey and grandfather Horace O. Bradley. Graveside service will be Saturday, October 1st, 2:00 pm, at Highland Memorial Park, and the celebration of life will be from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm.
