Leland Dowe,56, of St. Thomas/ St. Croix,Virgin Islands, passed away on 4/9/2022 in Ocala Florida. Viewing starts at 11:00 am and services start at 12:00 pm on Friday April 22. Arrangements are by Hiers Baxley Funeral Home. 3975 Wedgewood Ln, The Villages, FL 32162. Leland Dowe was born St. Thomas to Sheila Smith and Lawrence M Dowe Jr. on November 30 1965. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Virgin Islands Housing Authorities.  He received his certification to Operate Heavy Equipment.  Leland is preceded in death by Leland M Dowe Jr (son), Sherry Ratchford (step-daughter), Lynette Dowe-Forgie (sister), Delano Dowe (brother).  Leland Dowe survived by Sheila Smit (Mother) Lawrence Dowe (Father) ; his children Taisha Dowe, Amaida Xavier, Lynette Dowe-Thomas. Step-children Antonia Nicholas , Anthony Nicholas & Shanice Williams. (Son-In-Law) Gavin Douglas; his siblings  Valencia Hazelwood, Gene Meyers, Lebourne Dowe, Laurelei Dowe, Damien Dowe; his nieces and nephews Shamir, Lesha, Shaleigh, Leokei, Shalani, Lelah, Taylor, Brandon, Delroy  and, Latoya ; his grandchildren  Hasani & Hasania James and Raheem & T'Shaun Ari  Douglas, Gavin  Douglas JR, Jade Douglas Briana,Omari & Madison Thomas, Ankwinice McIntosh Jovon & Jalahnee Ratchford and many more family members to numerous to mention.
