Kay Day

Obituary of Kay Maudine Day

Kay Maudine Day, was born on September 5, 1938 in Little Rock, AR and went home to be with the Lord on February 8, 2021.  Survivors include her beloved husband of 35 years Mason Day, III, The Villages, FL; son Robert Dawson, Hoschton, GA; brother Jimmy Dale Jennings, Sherwood, AR; nieces and nephews Corbin (Kasey) Smith, Tulsa, OK, Keeley (Chris) Ballard, Tulsa, OK, Cole (Angela) McClure, Rogers, AR, and Hayden Day Tiller, Nashville, TN; and four adorable grandnieces Presley, Camdyn, Sheridan, and Adelynn.  She was preceded in death by her parents Robert Julian & Marie Julian, and her adopted parents Boyce & Helen Jennings.

Maudine was a Court Reporter in 3rd Division Chancery Court in Pulaski County, AR.  She was very proud that during her career as a court reporter none of her transcripts were sent back because of transcription errors.  She retired and moved to The Villages, FL in 2004 with her husband Mason.

Her hobbies included cross stitch and crosswords.  She took up golf where she made a hole-in-one (much to the chagrin of husband).  She always enjoyed watching Jeopardy & Wheel of Fortune with a glass of Chardonnay while beating her husband to the answers.  She really enjoyed getting together with her friends and playing a game of Mahjong.

The family recommends memorials be made to Saint Jude Children’s Hospital, Memphis, TN.  Arrangements entrusted with HIERS-BAXLEY Funeral & Cremation Life Event Center, 352-775-7427.  Sentiments may be left online at www.hiers-baxley.com.

People are like stained-glass windows.

They sparkle and shine when the sun is out.

But when the darkness sets in, their true beauty if revealed only if there light is from within. – by Elizabeth Kubler Ross
