Obituary of Myron G. Mader

Myron G. Mader, 88, of Ocala, FL was taken by the Lord on January 3,2021 from COVID-19. He was born August 25, 1932 in Antigo, WI the son of Myron and Lucille Mader. Myron was trained at Concordia College in Milwaukee and went on to complete his education to become a Lutheran missionary to the Upper Islands of Japan. Instead, he was appointed to serve Central Florida. Starting with 28 members, he built St. John Lutheran Church and School. He started the congregations of First Lutheran Church Inverness, Prince of Peace Lutheran Dunnellon, and Our Redeemer Lutheran Church on SR 200 in Ocala. Myron's first wife and mother of his children, Carol, passed away on All Saints Day November 1, 1986. Two years later he married Judith Woods of Covington, GA and together with three other families started Trinity Lutheran Church to serve NE Ocala, and retired in the middle of 2019. 

 

Myron is survived by his children, Mark (Judy) Mader of Ocala, FL, Terri Grier of Jacksonville, FL, Debra Mader of Arab, AL, Dr. Russell (Cathy) Mader of Kingsport, TN; and his brothers, Marty and Wes of Minnesota. "Boppa", as he was affectionately known, also had 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

 

A future memorial service will be announced for both Myron and his wife, Judith, who predeceased him on November 27, 2020. It will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ocala, FL when COVID concerns have subsided.
