Obituary of Edward P. Romeo

Edward P. Romeo, born on October 3rd, 1935 in Brooklyn, New York, went to be with the Lord on October 31st, 2018. Receiving a scholarship for his talents on the football field, he attended Arkansas State University. He held a longstanding record for the longest yards gained from the line of scrimmage, and was honored as a, “Little (small collage) All American.” He was also outstanding in track and field. He received his B.A. degree in 1958.

 

After teaching high school and coaching football in Arkansas and Missouri, he became a teacher and coach at Forest High School in Ocala, Florida in 1980. Consequently, the Forest Wildcats football team became Florida State champions for two years. He retired after coaching twenty-five years and teaching for forty-five years.

 

Eddie enjoyed working in his garden and preparing food on Wednesdays along with other members of the 1st Baptist Church. He was a passionate sportsman, enjoying fishing, bow hunting, and following his favorite college football teams.       

 

He leaves behind his wife Norma who will always love him and his sons Tony, Victor and Rickey. He also was blessed with two grand children, Michael and Gina and a great-grandson, Luchi. He leaves behind his younger brother Michael and his family and his nephew David.

 

Oh, how he will be missed!
