Tom was a good friend of mine in college.
One of the last things I did before leaving Chicago
was to have lunch with the both of You at your home.
This was in Sept. 1962.
I then moved to Calif. later that week.
So sorry for your loss—such a great guy.

Dear Walthouse Family - you are in my thoughts - I wish I could be there Friday. My dad thought of Uncle Tommy as his little brother. Thank you Aunt Fran and Uncle Tommy for going with my parents on some of their adventures. They treasured every moment. Love Cathy

My mother Edith Giallombardo and I terribly saddened to learn of Tom's passing and send our condolences to all of Tom's family.. My dad Joe Giallombardo, who coached Gymnastics & taught physical education at New Trier HS from 1940-1975, was a great mentor & friend of Tom's. Dad always looked up to Tom both physically (Dad was a stretch at 5'4") and as a fellow supporter of gymnastics. Tom and I were facebook friends / he regularly asked about my mom (she will be 98 next month) and always wished us well.. Again, our deepest sympathies to all who loved him.. He was surely one of the good guys..
with love & affection on behalf of the Giallombardo family, Sue G Walker, Richardson, Texas

Tom Walthouse was my driver Education teacher at Willowbrook HS. At the end of our driving time, he would let us stop at Darry Queen and then would let each one of us drive to our houses and drop ourselves off!
Ken and I visited Tom and Fran in the Villages a couple times when we were renting there. He was always willing to share his favorite memories about gymnastics and golfing. He was a great coach, judge, and most of all Friend! He will be missed by all of his "gymnastics Family"

Coach Walthgouse was my gymnastics coach at A.H. Highschool in 1966-67 on the varsity squad. He was a great man and a tough coach but in looking back I would not have had it any other way. I lived around the corner from Kathy in Cary for several years and enjoyed seeing Tom on a couple of occasions when he visited Chicago. My sincere condolences!
