Obituary of Jan Carol Taylor

Jan Carol Taylor passed away peacefully on March 13th at her home. Jan was born in Deland, FL to George and Elsie Statler. Jan held degrees from CFCC, UCF BA Criminal Justice, Stetson MS Counseling. She worked at Children’s Home Society, volunteered for the Guardian Ad Litem, and practiced through her business, “Counseling By Jan.” Working for Western Judicial, Jan additionally shared an office with Nancy Storch LMFT. Jan volunteered for the Golden Troupers, directed by Cathy Statler.
Jan is survived by her husband, W.C. Taylor, Ocala, brother Geoff Statler, Delray Beach, Fl., 3 daughters-Susan Hughes, Gainesville, Fl., Caroline Mishler, Ocklawaha, Fl., and Teresa Ale, Valley Village, Ca., grandchildren Daniel Hughes, Angela Hughes, Stepson, Michael Taylor, extended family, Barb and Ben Karas of Michigan.
Jan enjoyed hiking, canoeing, attending boat shows with her husband, Jan considered Cross Creek, “our place” for her and her husband to visit, it was her favorite movie as well.

 

Jan and husband were members of Orange Lake Baptist Church, Pastor James Kingsley. Jan attended Grace Presbyterian in Ocala, as well.
