I was terribly saddened to hear of Karl’s passing. I really enjoyed working with Karl for several years at NWS Tampa. My memories of Karl are of him being very nice, easy to work with, having an upbeat youthful spirit, and a great sense of humor. I will miss Karl. Please accept my deepest sympathies and know that I share in your grief.

My condolences to Karl's wife Patty. I was one of the first of Karl's Weather-watchers. He was a great guy and I appreciated his friendship and his ability to tell his weather stories. He was easy going and friendly and will be missed. I hope to make it to the services after Easter. God has someone to set his weather for him--a good man.---Mike Stevko

Patty and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Karl was a great man. I always enjoyed working with him. He had a great sense of humor he brought to work every day, and was always willing to bend over backwards to help anyone out he could. We had lots of fun outside the workplace, too, whether it be hosting me for dinner on my first Christmas in Tampa, or talking about life over dinner at office functions. It was great that Karl was able to follow up on his passions in his retirement. I will miss his presence on earth, but we know he has passed on to a better place.

To the family of Karl Loeper,
I would like to offer Karl's family my humblest of condolences on their very personal loss. I had the pleasure of working with Karl for seven years at the National Weather Service Office in Ruskin (Tampa area), Florida during the 1990s/early 2000s where his diligence to duty, memorable weather radio broadcasts, and skillful upper air balloon launches will forever be remembered.
Once a weatherman, always a weatherman! I'm sure Karl is enjoying the weather in a very heavenly place at this time.
Best regards,
Walt Zaleski
Meteorologist - Fort Worth, TX.

What a great guy!! Always encouraged others that had interests in weather. Always had the residents and listeners of WVLG informed of any severe weather conditions no matter what time it was. I am sure he will be watching our weather conditions and keep us all safe from above. Thanks Karl for your great dedication! You will be surely missed.
