Obituary of Janie Lou Zimmerman

Janie Lou Zimmerman, 82, passed away peacefully Monday, February 12, 2024 at Life Care Center of Ocala. Janie was born in Miami, Florida to the late Carl and Gladys (Hall) Hicks. Janie was a retired teaching assistant at Lake Weir Middle School and a member of the First Baptist Church of Summerfield. She was preceded in death by her husband Gary Zimmerman. Janie is survived by her daughters, Michelle Zimmerman; Gainesville, GA, Elizabeth Garcia; Perry, GA, Sarah Jackson; Ocala, FL and son Gary K. Zimmerman; Gainesville, FL. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Ryan Zimmerman, Alec Garcia, Travis Zimmerman, Alexis Garcia and Wyatt Jackson and two great-grandchildren Alani and Aubrey Wiggins. The family will receive friends at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 5946 SE Robinson Road, Belleview, FL on February 17, 2024 from 10:00 to 11:00am followed by the graveside service at Crum Cemetery, Summerfield, FL at 11:30am.
