Obituary of Evelyn Lois Helfinstine

Evelyn  Lois “George”  Helfinstine was born on September 16, 1937 in Bridgeport, CT and moved to Florida in 1974.

She went home to be with the Lord on May 25,2018, She was 80 years loved.

Evelyn is survived by her loving husband Mike “Helf” of 27 years. She leaves behind her children; Loring Felix , Maggie Long , Mike Felix, Dominick Georgetti, Rose Helfinstine & a step daughter Denise Goolsby-Horton. As well as 12 grandchildren; Justin, Christopher, Jessica, Stephen, Michael, Ryan, Kayla, Nicole, Dominick, Savannah, Jordan, Bentley & 16 great grandchildren, two sisters Fran and Oach, a brother Bill, and a life long friend Audrey.

Evelyn was a nurse for over 30yrs (where she made life long friends) she also worked for the Marion County school system for 12 years. Evelyn and Mike opened their home for foster children. “George” had been a volunteer at St. Theresa’s for 20 years. 

She loved her family more than anything. Evelyn loved to go camping with Mike &  Rose; they were also camp volunteers for many years. She was an avid Yankees fan. Her passions included  making puzzles, sewing, watching Days of Our Lives, and of course her wine.
