Kathleen (Kaye) M McNally Lee was born in Chelsea, MA on July 25, 1922 to James Andrew and Mary (Donaghy) McNally.  She died in Ocala, Fl on May 3, 2018 in the home of her daughter, Patti Casey, after a brief illness. She grew up in Revere, Ma and attended parochial schools and the “finishing school” Faye’s School for Young Ladies in Boston which resulted in her teaching her daughters and granddaughters how to walk properly by balancing a book on their head. She later moved to Cambridge Mass, married and gave birth to 4 children. She moved to Billerica, MA in 1955 then to Frostproof, FL in 1970 where she was the owner of the Ridge Trailer Park and Sales Lot in Avon Park, Fl. She was the Secretary of the Avon Park Women’s Club. In later years, she was proud of the fact that she was on the opening team for the Disney Cruise Line. She moved to Ocala in 2006 to be closer to family. She was the matriarch of a large family and loved her trips to the casino, family vacations and celebrating holidays, especially Christmas. She was very active and independent, lived alone, and still drove a car.  She was known for her wit, her one-liners, and doing things her way.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D Lee, 2 brothers, Bernard and Gerard McNally, 1 grandson, David Arsenault and 1 great-grandson, Jacob James Casey.  She is survived by 1 brother, James McNally, Cape Cod, Ma; one son, James (Eddie) Lee (Ellen), Lake Lure, NC; Daughter Maureen Hoyt (Dave), Ft Payne, Al; Daughter Kathleen (Kathie) Bavis (Larry), Billerica, Ma. and daughter Patricia (Patti) Casey (James), Ocala, FL.  She had 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren and one life-long friend, Irma Solomons of Lake Mary, Fl.

 

Heirs Baxley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  A funeral Mass will be held at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church on Sat, May 12, 2018 at 2:30pm. Interment will be in Bougainvillea Cemetery in Avon Park, Fl.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of Marion County.
