Obituary of Magdaline Carden

Magdaline “Maggie” Carden, age 85, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, surrounded by her loving children.  Born March 10, 1933, in Rockingham County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Clara E. Allison. She was a lifelong member of the Pentecostal Church at Aycock Street, where she spent countless hours as a volunteer. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends and service to her church and neighbors. Her hobbies included cooking, gardening, and crochet.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Cecil R. Alley and later by husband Haywood Carden, brothers Herman Jr., Lenard, Drexel and sisters Elizabeth and Madelene. She is survived by her children, sons Don Alley, Scott Alley (Melinda), Chris Alley (Heather) and daughter Ginger A. Carroll (Steve); sister Nancy Curtis (Harold), brother Curtis Allison ( Nancy Ann); grandchildren, Steven Carroll Jr., Matthew Carroll, Misty Anast, Dawn Watlington, Leighann Alley, Tyler Alley, Faith Alley, Avery Alley, Thorne Alley, and Micah Alley. Additionally 11 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends whom she loved. 

Local arrangements by Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services in Ocala.  The family will receive friends from 6pm until 9pm Saturday, April 28, at the Vanstory St. location of Haines-Linberry Funeral Home and Funeral Service in Greensboro, NC, (336) 292-1081, on Sunday April 29, 2:30 at Aycock Fellowship Ministries.
