Obituary of Evelyn Griffin

Griffin, Evelyn Kandy 66, Ocala - Mrs. Evelyn Griffin,66, graduated, to Heaven on November 22, 2008 at Ocala Regional Hospital. She was born in Paintlick, Kentucky and raised in the state of Ohio. Kandy was daughter to William Aaron Lakes and Charity M. Lakes. She was a well-rounded individual throughout her adolescent years. Evelyn went on to Ohio State University where she played basketball and later transferred to CFCC to earn her degree. She was Inventory Control Manager for Baxter medical supplies for many years. Kandy lived her life for the Lord as an active member of Ocala First Baptist. She supported an orphanage and pastors In India of which she gave her utmost. Evelyn is survived by mother, Charity Lakes: husband, Thomas Griffin: brother, William Lakes: children, Jeff Martin, Tara Martin, and Michelle Martin: grandchildren, Amy Ester, T.J. Martin, Steven Dudley, Christopher Martin, Shawn Dudley, Olivia Martin, Lacie Martin and Brandi Martin: great-grandchildren, Taylor Jean Martin and Abbigail Ester. Tom and Kandy raised both Lacie and Brandi Martin throughout their adolescent years to present. The Viewing will be held Tuesday November 25, 2008 from 1-2 p.m. at First Baptist Ocala and the funeral service will follow directly after at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place Friday, November 28 at Springboro Cemetery in Ohio. Arrangements were made by HIERS-BAXLEY FUNERAL HOME.
