Obituary of John Germain

GERMAIN, SR., JOHN FREDERICK Ocala - John Frederick Germain, Sr., 83, passed away on Nov. 23, 2008 at Sylvia's Hospice House. He was born in Glen Cove, NY and moved to Ocala 40 years ago from California. He was a retired owner /operator of an appliance business and a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a plank owner of the USS Hancock on which he served and a member of the VFW, DAV, Ocala Moose Lodge, Sons of the American Revolution and the Legionairs. Survivors include his wife, Irene of Ocala, his daughters, Carol Kirby of Mattituck, NY, Doris Germain of Eugene, OR and Rhoda Germain of Chicago. IL, his sons, James Sands of Rutledge, TN, Warren Sands of San Antonio, TX and John F. Germain, Jr. of Hanover, PA, his sister, Barbara Johnson of Ft. Lauderdale, his eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Dec. 1, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala. Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
