Obituary of Richard Swakla

Richard R. Swakla died on November 25th in Ocala, FL at age 65. He was born on January 14, 1943 in Nashua, NH. Mr. Swakla graduated from Nashua High School, received his B.A. from Providence College, and his M.B.A. from Rivier College. He enjoyed the Ocala Symphony Orchestra, the Ocala Civic Theater and photography. Prior to retirement, he was Purchasing Director at International Specialty Products in Wayne, NJ. He also held Purchasing Manager positions at Providence Gas Company in Rhode Island, and Essex County Gas Company in Massachusetts. He is a Veteran of the US Army, graduated from Fort Sill Oklahoma Officers Candidate School, and served with the 8th Army Intelligence Headquarters in Seoul, Korea. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, the former Constance Bertrand. He also leaves a daughter, Christine Fisk of Mesa, AZ; a son, Richard Swakla of Charlotte, NC; and two grandchildren, Tom and Kate Swakla of Mooresville, NC. He will be loved and remembered by family and friends forever. Visitation hours will be Monday, December 1st from 2:00 - 4:00 PM at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services TimberRidge, 9695 SW 110th St. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 2nd at 8:30 AM at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, SR 200, Ocala, followed by interment at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
